This is the very first time I’ve ever written in my web log, although I’ve probably had it for over a month. The only reason why I hadn’t used it was because I didn’t know what language to write in.
My mother tongue is Spanish. As you can probably tell, I’m from Guatemala. That’s where my web log’s name comes from; “Guate” is a popular short name for Guatemala. Kind of like a nickname.
Anyways, I decided to write in English because I consider it the most universal language at this time, and I want to get to as much people as I possibly can. I hate when I want to read something and it takes ages for me to get an idea of what the deal’s about. So I hope English makes it easier for those who are actually reading this.
The truth is that what inspired me to create this web log was Guatemala. There are a lot of people who don’t know about my country, most of them have never even heard of it. I must tell you: you’re missing a lot of wonderful things.
Guatemala has a lot to offer. Not only as a beautiful country, loaded with natural wonders, but also as a place rich in diversity of culture and filled with kind people.
Even though my nationally is very important to me, Guatemala is not all I will ever comment on. I really intend to use this space to express myself. As crazy as it seems, in this highly developed world, we hardly get the chance to express our thoughts, feelings and opinions. That’s a real shame.
